Pilates

Pilates (originally called “Contrology” by Joseph Pilates) builds strength, improves flexibility and develops control and endurance in the entire body.   By simultaneously strengthening and lengthening muscles, it improves coordination, balance and alignment.   The emphasis of the practice is developing a strong core, which is thought to be key to a person’s stability.   The Pilates system allows for exercises to be modified in range of difficulty from beginner to advanced and also enables instructors to assist practitioners with specific goals and/or limitations.

Reiki is a Japanese form of alternative medicine known as energy healing.   Reiki practitioners use a technique called “hands-on-healing” through which a “universal energy” is transferred through the palms of the practitioner to the patient in order to encourage emotional or physical healing.
